The recent BP oil spill in Louisiana, has brought oil politics to the forefront of American consciousness, however, these issues have long existed in other communities around the globe such as the Niger Delta & Ecuador, where oil companies continue to rake in billions in profits while degrading local environments & exploiting indigenous people with impunity. Our challenge as artists, is to bring awareness to such issues in creative/engaging ways. The goal of the Oil Change project is just that.
